Real Madrid unveiled new centre-back Eder Militao at a press conference earlier today – only for it to be cut short after the defender almost fainted.
Los Blancos have continued their summer splurge on some of the biggest names in football this summer, and have agreed to splash out a whopping fee of €50 million on the Brazilian international after his impressive spell in Porto.
But facing the media this afternoon, it all seemed to get a bit much for Militao, who complained of feeling dizzy and unwell as he answered questions about his big-money move:
He could be heard saying: “I feel faint, I feel faint, it’s an enormous emotion. I can’t do anything more.”
According to the Metro, Real Madrid managed to beat off competition from Manchester United for Militao, who has been capped at senior level five times for his country.
But today’s scenes are likely to trouble Real fans, many of whom are hoping for a much more competitive campaign after last season’s appalling third-place finish.
What do you think of the clip and how do you think he’ll fare in Spanish football?
