3 Players You Should Definitely Be Looking to Add to Your Fantasy Team This Weekend

3 Players You Should Definitely Be Looking to Add to Your Fantasy Team This Weekend

We’re moving into gameweek two of the Ladbrokes Premiership Fantasy Football – and it’s sure to be another cracker.

The first gameweek saw Ryan Christie come out as the top performer, earning a whopping 62.4 points for his hat-trick show against St Johnstone.

But there were other big scorers, including Aberdeen’s Sam Cosgrove and Rangers’ James Tavernier.

Now, we move on to gameweek two – and we run through three players we believe could have big weekends on fantasy.spfl.co.uk:

If you haven’t got Cosgrove in your team then you best do it now. He scored 28 points for his performance against Hearts on Sunday, hitting the net twice in a 3-2 victory. This weekend, he’s up against a St Mirren defence which should be fully tested by the Dons. Cosgrove scored four times against the Buddies last season, including hitting a double in the first game between the teams. Everything points towards more goals from Cosgrove.

Laurentiu Branescu

Branescu and Kilmarnock suffered a sucker punch with Connor Goldson’s late winner for Rangers at Rugby Park on Sunday. The defeat to Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Europa League had fans worried going into the weekend’s game, but Angelo Alessio’s side put in a much more Steve Clarke-like performance against Steven Gerrard’s men. We get the impression that Killie will play like that regularly this season so we expect Branescu to be well protected – particularly this weekend against a Hamilton side easily beaten 3-0 on the opening weekend. At £8million too, Branescu is a very cheap addition.

Craig Halkett

Do you really see Ross County taking anything from Hearts at Tynecastle? Craig Levein’s men were unlucky to lose 3-2 to Aberdeen on gameweek one as they showed enough to get at least a draw. This weekend, they’ll face an easier task and we really fancy the Jambos to get a positive result. But why are we adding Halkett to our team? Well, we believe Hearts will be strong defensively and Halkett has shown early on this season that he’s going to be a big asset for Levein’s side going forward.

Who is going to be in your fantasy team this weekend?
