The left-back has signed a five-year deal for the North London club today after both clubs finally agreed a fee in the region of £25 million, after several weeks of protracted negotiations.
Having graduated through the Hoops’ youth system, and known to have been a lifelong Celtic fan, Tierney’s departure will be hitting some of the club’s supporters hard this evening, and it seems the mega-money deal wasn’t an easy decision for the player himself.
The 22-year-old took to his official Instagram account to explain his decision somewhat, whilst thanking the fans, coaching staff and his now former Celtic team-mates:
Tierney is still recovering from a double hernia operation undertaken at the end of May, so it remains to be seen when he’ll make his Arsenal bow.
But what do you make of his decision to leave for the Premier League, and his goodbye statement?
