Kilmarnock Boss Angelo Alessio Warns Celtic That Transfer Target Greg Taylor Isn’t for Sale

Kilmarnock boss Angelo Alessio has today issued a hands-off warning to Celtic, and any other clubs, looking to tempt away his top stars.

Following Kieran Tierney’s £25 million move to Arsenal last week, Killie left-back and Scotland international Greg Taylor has been linked with a move to the Hoops, with the Daily Record claiming the Parkhead club had recently sent scouts to watch the defender in action.

But it seems under-fire boss Alessio doesn’t think any of his senior players will be lured away before the current transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s League Cup tie at home to Hamilton, the Italian coach said via the Sun: “I want to keep the best players in our team: Taylor, O’Donnell and other players.

“In the next two weeks I don’t think this player can go to other teams. I’ve read about Greg but I think they are just rumours.

“I don’t think (the club would sell him) because the club and I want to keep the best player in our team.

“We need to add other players up front but this is a very difficult market because other teams want the same players. Maybe next week we’ll have some players.”

If Taylor isn’t to be a Celtic player this month, Neil Lennon’s side have also been linked with a move for Rosenborg defender Birger Meling, but which player do you think would be better suited to the move?

And where else would you say Celtic need to strengthen before the window closes?
