Neil Lennon Reveals Kieran Tierney Returned to Celtic Training Complex to Say Goodbye to Teammates

Kieran Tierney returned to the Celtic training ground yesterday to say goodbye to his now former team-mates, according to Hoops boss Neil Lennon.

The Scotland international full-back finally sealed his £25 million move from Celtic Park to Arsenal last Thursday, just ahead of the transfer deadline for English clubs to sign players, and was paraded in North London on Friday as he met his new colleagues.

However, it seems Tierney took time out of what must’ve been a pretty hectic weekend to say goodbye to his old pals at Lennoxtown, before beginning his Premier League odyssey with the Gunners.

With Celtic preparing for tomorrow night’s crucial Champions League third qualifying round second-leg against Cluj on Tuesday night, Lennon explained via the Sun: “He was in yesterday.

“He popped in and everyone was delighted to see him.

“He got a nice farewell from the players and it was emotional for him.

“But the players will get on with it now and that’s what you do, you roll on.

“He’s going to be a big miss obviously but there’s an opportunity there for someone else to take on the mantle now.”

With Tierney still recovering from a double hernia operation, it remains to be seen when he will make his debut for Arsenal, but what do you think of his proper goodbye with his Celtic team-mates?

And do you think we’ll see him back in the Glasgow club’s iconic green and white kit once again before he retires?
