Neil Lennon Praises Vakoun Bayo After ‘Outstanding’ Victory Over Hearts

Neil Lennon has singled out striker Vakoun Bayo for praise after this afternoon’s win over Hearts – which the Celtic gaffer described as ‘outstanding’ and a ‘big performance’.

The Hoops boss rang the changes following Thursday’s 2-0 Europa League victory against AIK Stockholm, with newly acquired goalkeeper Fraser Forster between the sticks and Bayo handed his first competitive start for the club in attack.

A signing for more than £2 million during the January transfer window, the Ivory Coast internationalist has failed to cement his place in the Celtic starting XI thus far, but his brace in today’s 3-1 victory showed everyone exactly what he’s capable of, and his manager seemed impressed after the full-time whistle:

Lennon’s Celtic side will now travel to Sweden for the second-leg of their Europa League playoff tie with AIK, before the mouthwatering clash against bitter rivals Rangers at Ibrox next Sunday.

Do you think Celtic will be top of the Premiership this time next week?
