Romesh Ranganathan couldn’t resist a funny dig at Robin van Persie when they both appeared together on A League Of Their Own recently.

The former Dutch striker has been making a few television appearances recently – first on BT Sport for their coverage of Arsenal v Burnley and now the Sky One quiz show.

He joined James Corden, Freddie Fleetwood, Laura Woods, Tony Bellew, Jamie Redknapp and Ranganathan on the latest episode.

And comedian Ranganathan – who supports Arsenal – couldn’t resist having a dig at van Persie for the way he left the Gunners for Manchester United back in 2012.

Van Persie explained at the weekend that Arsenal no longer wanted him after they disagreed with his vision of how they would achieve success.

But Ranganathan still has a bitter taste in his mouth – albeit he was joking with this:

Van Persie looked like he took it well.

You’ll be able to see his full appearance on the show on Thursday at 9pm.
