The Gers managed to squeeze past the Buddies in Paisley this afternoon thanks to a 1-0 win in a match Gerrard described as a ‘sticky’ encounter, coming hot on the heels of Thursday’s match against Legia Warsaw in Poland.
Croatia international Barisic has endured some sticky times of his own since arriving in Glasgow in the summer of 2018, as we’ve told you previously, but it seems he’s flavour of the month after his 59th minute free-kick today.
Barisic whipped his set-piece high into the top-corner just before the hour mark, leaving Saints goalie Václav Hladký hopelessly stranded, and Gerrard reckons he deserves every sentence of praise he’ll receive:
Rangers will now host Legia at Ibrox on Thursday night, before an Old Firm showdown with bitter rivals Celtic next Sunday.
But what do you think of Barisic’s goal, and Gerrard’s comments?
