Video: Steven Gerrard Praises the Harmony of His Rangers Squad After East Fife Win

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has praised the harmony and depth of his squad following this afternoon’s hard-fought victory over East Fife.

The Gers gaffer made 10 changes for the last-16 Betfred Cup tie at Bayview, with only Glen Kamara retaining his starting position from Thursday’s 3-1 win over FC Midtjylland in the Europa League.

But despite making so many alterations, the Ibrox side strolled to a comfortable 3-0 win, with Jermain Defoe, Filip Helander and Joe Aribo grabbing the goals.

Rangers were always expected to win today’s match, but the manner of the win and the display of his fringe players has definitely left Gerrard in a positive mood:

Rangers will now face an away trip to Livingston in the quarter-finals of the competition, but their next match will be Thursday’s game at Legia Warsaw in the Europa League’s playoff rounds.

Is Gerrard correct when he talks about ‘exciting times’?
