Video: Steven Gerrard Says Rangers Might’ve Lost Today’s Kilmarnock Game Last Season

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has admitted his side might’ve lost today’s win over Kilmarnock had it been played this time last season.

The Ibrox club looked like they were going to be made to settle for a 1-1 draw at Rugby Park after Stephen O’Donnell pounced to cancel out Scott Arfield’s opener in the 83rd minute, but Connor Goldson popped up with a last-gasp winner to secure all three points.

Remarkably, the victory is Rangers’ first Premiership win at Rugby Park since 2011, and speaking to Sky Sports after the full-time whistle, Gerrard was full of praise for his players, and admittedly just happy to be heading back to Glasgow with a win:

Rangers will now face Danish side FC Midtjylland in the Europa League third qualifying round this coming midweek, but how important was it for them to win today considering Celtic’s emphatic 7-0 thrashing of St. Johnstone yesterday?
