Manchester United flop Romelu Lukaku looks to have put his Old Trafford woes in the rearview mirror by scoring on his Serie A debut for Inter Milan tonight.
The Belgium striker completed a controversial move to the San Siro giants earlier this summer, after the clubs agreed a fee thought to be in the region of £65 million for the ex-Everton forward, and Lukaku, according to the Metro, quickly took a swipe at the Red Devils over their training techniques not too long after arriving in Italy.
Despite possessing a fairly decent goals-to-game ratio whilst a United player, Lukaku never managed to hit the heights expected of him, and it’s probably fair to say he never really managed win over the majority of the Manchester club’s supporters in his two seasons at the club either.
But the 26-year-old’s Italian sojourn seems to be going pretty well so far, with Lukaku pouncing to score his new team’s third goal in tonight’s league opener against Lecce:
It wasn’t the prettiest of goals but they all count, right?
How well do you think Lukaku will fare in Italian football?
