The Ibrox giants travelled to Denmark for the third qualifying round first-leg of the competition, and were expecting a stern test from the runners-up in the Danish top-flight last season.
But, in truth, it was an extremely comfortable win for the Gers, with Gerrard’s side going 3-0 ahead at one point, before eventually triumphing 4-2 thanks to goals from Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo, Nikola Katic and Scott Arfield.
As you could probably imagine, Gerrard was pretty delighted with bagging an impressive four away goals, and was quick to shower his squad with some serious praise in his post-match interview with Rangers TV – describing the outing as almost perfection:
If, as expected, Rangers finish off the job against Midtjylland in Glasgow next week, they’ll play either Legia Warsaw or Atromitos in the play-off round – but how far can they realistically go in this season’s tournament?
