Ally McCoist Questions ‘Passion’ of Hibs Players After Defeat to Hearts

Ally McCoist has questioned the ‘passion’ of the Hibs players following their defeat to Hearts on Sunday.

The Rangers legend appeared on the Ladbrokes Social Club yesterday and spoke about the 2-1 victory for the Jambos at Easter Road.

Both Paul Heckingbottom and Craig Levein went into the game under pressure, but it was the Jambos manager who got the three points and Edinburgh capital bragging rights thanks to a comeback.

Stevie Mallan’s beautiful strike had given Hibs the lead in the game, but Hearts hit back through Uche Ikpeazu and Aaron Hickey.

And now all the pressure is on Heckingbottom following the result.

While McCoist – and Alan Stubbs, who sat next to him on the show – believes it’s too soon to sack the English manager, he did question the passion of the Hibs players.

Per the Ladbrokes Social Club, he said: “The only thing that slightly concerns me a little bit about watching Hibs, and I think when he came over there was a great reaction, but I’m looking at Hibs now this season and they don’t seem to have the same passion.

“They’ve definitely got talent in the team. I don’t think there’s any doubt they’ve got talent in the team.

“That allied with the passion I felt when Paul Heckingbottom took over they were heading in the right direction.

“But from what I’ve seen, a couple of really disappointing results and performances, they’re just lacking something.”

Hibs now find themselves second bottom of the Ladbrokes Premiership and face a tough game against Celtic this Saturday.
