Arsenal Fans Hammer £72M Signing Nicolas Pépé for ‘Terrible’ Showing Against Man Utd

Arsenal fans were thoroughly unimpressed with Nicolas Pépé‘s showing against Manchester United tonight, with many wondering if their club has kept the receipt to his £72 million transfer.

The Ivory Coast international joined the Gunners from Lille for the club record fee during the summer transfer window, but he’s really failed to hit the heights since arriving in the Premier League.

Pepe was given the nod to start the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford but a series of over-hit crosses and wasted set-pieces led to him being substituted in the second-half, and many of the North London club’s supporters are focussing their ire in his direction:

Of course, whilst Pepe might’ve commanded a mammoth transfer fee, he’s still only 24 and has only been in English football for a handful of matches, so is everyone being a bit too harsh on him?

And do you think he’ll eventually prove to be money well spent?
