Celtic’s Christopher Jullien Says Odsonne Edouard Could Be as Good as Kylian Mbappé

Celtic defender Christopher Jullien reckons his team-mate Odsonne Edouard could one day be as good as PSG superstar Kylian Mbappé.

Edouard, 21, is enjoying perhaps the best season of his career so far, and currently has an impressive eight goals in 15 appearances in all competitions – including a vital strike against Rangers.

Celtic shelled out a club record fee of around £9 million to secure Edouard’s services on a permanent basis in the summer of 2018, but Jullien seems pretty certain that it’ll prove to be money well spent.

Speaking after yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Hibs at Easter Road, Jullien said via the Sun: “He is a striker who can really do anything.

“He is on his way to being, for me, the best striker in our league.

“He is going to show that in European games too.

“Can he reach the same level as Mbappe? I think so, yes.

“I’ve played against a lot of strikers in my time and I have not met many who are like Odsonne.

“He is a complete striker.”

Jullien was tasked with shackling Mbappe when he faced the £166million man last season while playing for Toulouse – with Mbappe scoring in the 74th minute to give PSG all three points.

So is he well placed to make such an emphatic statement? What do you think?
