Cesc Fabregas has paid a big tribute to Billy Gilmour after the youngster made his full Chelsea debut.
The Spanish midfielder knows Gilmour from his time at Stamford Bridge.
Towards the end of his spell as a Blue, the Scottish midfielder joined the club’s youth team and actually trained with the now AS Monaco midfielder a couple of times.
Gilmour has spoken before about how Fabregas inspires him.
And now the Spanish World Cup winner has paid tribute to Gilmour after the 18-year-old started Chelsea’s win over Grimsby in the Carabao Cup last night:
That is a classy post from Fabregas – and should give Gilmour even more motivation to establish himself at Chelsea.
He noticed Fabregas’ kind words and gave a thank you after the game:
That’s Gilmour’s second top team appearance for Chelsea and he’ll no doubt be hoping to make more between now and the end of the season.
