French Newspaper L’Equipe Claims Odsonne Edouard Agreed Summer Move to Monaco

Reports in France claim Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard agreed a summer move back to his homeland with Monaco.

The striker, 21, has developed into the Hoops’ undoubted star player this season having scored six goals in 11 matches so far, including the opener in Sunday’s crucial 2-0 victory over bitter rivals Rangers.

Celtic splashed out £9 million to sign Edouard on a permanent basis from PSG in the summer of 2018 but it seems another Ligue 1 giant was keen to bring the forward back to France during the transfer window.

The respected publication L’Equipe, as per the Scotsman, have claimed Edouard had agreed a terms on a contract to move to the Principality, only for the clubs to fall short on agreeing a transfer fee.

Celtic fans will obviously be over the moon that the move failed to materialise, but do you think Edouard will follow in the footsteps of ex-Celtic striker Moussa Dembele in eventually departing for big money?
