United might be at their lowest ebb for years on the pitch following Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham in the Premier League, which leaves the Red Devils a whopping 10 points behind rivals Liverpool after just six match this season.
However, off the pitch, things still seem pretty rosy – financially speaking, at least.
United’s Executive Vice Chairman Woodward oversaw a conference call with the club’s major investors this afternoon, where all manner of subjects were discussed, not least the record annual revenue of £627 million.
However, the need for somefootball knowledge behind the scenes was laid bare at one point when Chris Smalling’s loan move to Roma was addressed, with one investor slightly clueless regarding the terminology:
How on Earth did it come to this for Manchester United, once one of the best teams on the planet?!
What do you think of the question, and United’s current state?
