Celtic boss Neil Lennon piled praise on his players following this afternoon’s win over bitter rivals Rangers – describing the victory as an Old Firm Derby ‘masterclass’.
The Hoops ran out 2-0 winners at the home of their arch enemies thanks to goals either side of half-time from Odsonne Edouard and Jonny Hayes, leaving Lennon’s men three points clear at the top of the Premiership going into the international break.
Celtic’s defence was under a lot of scrutiny going into the first meeting between the two sides this season, but the likes of Christopher Jullien, Boli Bolingoli were absolutely outstanding, whilst Scott Brown was at his snarling best in the middle of the park.
Speaking to the media after the full-time whistle, Lennon struggled to contain his glee, and even described this display as verging on ‘perfect’:
Attention now turns to the final day of the transfer window for Lennon and the Celtic board, but how satisfying a result was that for the supporters?
