Video: Andy Robertson Says Scoring First Against Russia ‘Scared’ Scotland’s Players

Andy Robertson says Scotland‘s players seemed to be scared by scoring first in Friday night’s crushing defeat to Russia.

Scots captain Robertson and his team-mates went into the crucial Euro 2020 qualifier at Hampden knowing that, realistically, they needed all three points from the fixture to keep alive hopes of reaching next year’s competition via their qualifying group, and they got off to the perfect start when John McGinn opened the scoring early on.

However, goals either side of half-time from Artem Dzyuba and Yuri Zhirkov handed the Russians a well-earned victory – and left Robertson visibly furious after the full-time whistle.

The Champions League winner gave a typically frank and honest assessment of Scotland’s display as he spoke to Sky Sports:

Scotland now host the world’s no1 ranked side, Belgium, on Monday evening, but do you think they can somehow recover and still reach Euro 2020?
