Robert Snodgrass has announced his retirement from Scotland duty – bringing to an end eight years with the national team.
He took part in Scotland’s 4-0 defeat away at Russia last week in what was his final game for the country.
It would have been a disappointing way for Snodgrass to depart, but it isn’t entirely unexpected given Scotland can’t qualify from their group and now have to focus on blooding some young talent between now and the Nations League qualifiers.
Snodgrass took to Instagram to announce his decision this morning – and the tributes have been pouring in from many since.
Now, we’ll look back on five of his best goals in a Scotland jersey:
1 – His First
2 – Against Croatia in 2013
3 – His One and Only Hat-Trick Against Moldova
Snodgrass scored seven goals in 28 total appearances during his Scotland career and will no doubt feel he deserved to get more goals and games.
