Chelsea fans have got some good news over N’Golo Kante’s fitness ahead of their clash with Lille.
The French midfielder missed out on his side’s victory over Brighton at Stamford Bridge at the weekend.
It was a minor hamstring injury that kept Kante out of that game.
But he seems to have got over that quickly to take part in training today ahead of the Champions League clash with Lille tomorrow night.
Per chelseafc.com, the club’s media team confirmed Kante’s presence in Chelsea training and that he’s in contention to play in France.
They wrote: “N’Golo Kante was among those involved in Chelsea training at Cobham today as the Blues put the finishing touches to preparations for our Champions League trip to France.
“Following back-to-back victories in domestic competition, attentions now switch to European football and the bid to get our first points on the board in Group H. Kante took part in today’s session, the first 15 minutes of which were open to the media, after missing the weekend win over Brighton.
“Frank Lampard reported after that game that the Frenchman was carrying a minor hamstring problem, although he insisted the decision to leave him out of the squad was more of a precautionary measure.”
Chelsea lost their opening Champions League group game 1-0 at the hands of Valencia two weeks ago so will be eyeing a return to winning ways in the competition.
As for Lille, they lost their opening game 3-0 to Ajax and will also be motivated to bounce back with a win – particularly at home.
Kante has appeared four times for Chelsea this season – his last outing coming in a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool, where he scored a goal.
