After Mourinho was sacked last December following a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League, the Special One was acting as a Sky Sports pundit for today’s rematch between the two giants at Old Trafford – and he really didn’t hold back when asked about Solskjaer’s underwhelming start to the current season.
Speaking live on Sky, via the Express, Mourinho said: “According to what we could read and watch last week, in Ole’s words and Mr Woodward’s interview and some good work they did, some good PR during the week, to make it absolutely clear or try to create a positive atmosphere for the game.
“In any case I think they did very, very well.
“What I understand is that the objectives are the future.
“I’m going to try to get a job like Ole has in the future, which is to speak all the time in the future and then you’re protected in the present.
“I think it’s a great situation as Ole was saying, three years contract, the young players, results are important but I think it’s a great job to do in such a giant club like Manchester United.”
Today’s match ended in a 1-1 draw, following goals from Marcus Rashford and Adam Lallana, but what do you make of Mourinho’s digs at his former employers?
Is he right to seemingly suggest he didn’t receive enough time during his stint at the Red Devils?
