United are currently in one of their worst periods for decades after a diabolic start to the Premier League season, which culminated in last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St. James’s Park.
Having sold Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez in the summer, the Red Devils are in desperate need of a striker, and ex-Rangers and Middlesbrough striker Boyd reckons the answer could be waiting for them at Celtic Park.
Edouard is in the form of his career so far, with the 21-year-old having bagged 9 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions so far, and Boyd seems to think he should be an attractive proposition to the power-brokers and money men at Old Trafford.
Speaking as a pundit on Sky Sports today, via the Sun, Boyd explained: “Talk about playing with France, is it a possibility? Yes. Do I think he’ll do it with Celtic? No.
“That’ll be in the back of his mind, he’ll need to make that move if he’s going to get in the French squad.
“I don’t think it’ll be January, but come next summer, if there’s something of £25-30million, which is reasonable for me, I think this guy will go to the very top.
“If I was Manchester United, I would come in and give the £25-30million in the summer.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if a Brighton or an Aston Villa come in and pay the £30million for Odsonne Edouard and then he goes again.”
United have been recently linked with former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, but could Edouard also be a serious contender to fill United’s vacant No.9 jersey?
