Two Liverpool Fans Miss Win Over Genk After Mistakingly Flying to Gent Instead

Liverpool romped to victory in Genk last night – but two of their supporters missed the victory after flying to Gent by accident.

After losing to Napoli in their opening group phase match, the Reds kept their defence of the European Cup on track by defeating the Belgian champions 4-1 on Wednesday evening, thanks to a double from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and goals from Sadio Mane and Mo Salah.

But as Jurgen Klopp’s men were running riot in one part of Belgium, the hapless duo in the main image above had become stranded in Gent, after mistakingly getting the two destinations mixed-up.

The story was covered by Belgian news outlet HLN, with KAA Gent’s social media team getting in touch to invite the lads to their Europa League tie with Wolfsburg this evening.

They probably won’t be laughing about their poor grasp of geography any time soon, but we’re willing to bet they’ll find it pretty funny some day.

All’s well that ends well!
