Steve Clarke believes Steven Gerrard should have dealt with Ryan Jack‘s injury issue privately.
The Scotland manager spoke to the media this afternoon shortly after naming his squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers with Russia and San Marino.
It was the first opportunity for the media to ask Clarke his thoughts on the Rangers gaffer’s criticism of how Jack was treated at the last Scotland camp.

Now Clarke has responded to that situation, claiming the issue should have been dealt with privately – although he does admit communication within his Scotland staff has to be better.
Per the official Scotland national team Twitter, Clarke was asked if he’d have preferred the issue to dealt with privately and responded: “It would have been better if it had been dealt with privately.”
He was then asked if he felt he needed to have a conversation with Gerrard about it and said: “No, I didn’t feel the need to have the conversation.”
