Arsenal play-maker Mesut Ozil returned to the club’s starting line-up this evening and reminded supporters exactly what he’s capable of with an exquisite assist against Liverpool.
The German World Cup winner has fallen out-of-favour under manager Unai Emery and, before tonight, hadn’t kicked a ball for the North London club since the Carabao Cup tie against Nottingham Forest on September 24.
Ozil’s time at the Emirates looks to be drawing to a close but the 31-year-old was handed an opportunity in tonight’s cup tie at Anfield, and set-up Ainsley Maitland-Niles in brilliant fashion to make it 4-2 early in the second-half.
He might not be the hardest-working player, but sometimes Ozil is capable of really delightful football:
What do you think of the clip, and does Ozil still have a future at Arsenal?
