Neil Lennon couldn’t hide his delight after Celtic beat Lazio tonight.
The Hoops manager led his side to their second win in the Europa League group stages by beating the Serie A giants 2-1.
They had to do it the hard way, with Manuel Lazzari giving the visitors a first-half lead.
Lazio actually had good spells in the game and a number of chances to add to their goal.
But they weren’t able to – and Celtic produced a spirited comeback to win through goals from Ryan Christie and Christopher Jullien.
The win takes Celtic to seven points in the group and a victory away at Lazio next month could take them through to the last 32 with two games to spare.
And Lennon couldn’t hide his pride and delight when speaking after the game:
Celtic drew 1-1 away at Rennes in their first group game and beat Cluj in their second at home so knew a win tonight could be big for their knockout aspirations.
Now it’s likely four points will from the remaining three games would definitely be enough to go through.
