Hibs midfielder Scott Allan has shed some light on why he failed to make the breakthrough at Celtic – as well as discussing some of his idols and his hopes for representing Scotland in the future.

The 27-year-old re-joined Hibs last summer after being unable to make the breakthrough at Celtic Park over a period of four years, most of which was spent under Brendan Rodgers.

Interestingly, Allan has revealed Rodgers did seem to rate his abilities, but saw the play-maker more as a sitting midfielder than the No10 he’d already established himself as.

Allan detailed some of his time in Glasgow during an exclusive chat with PLZ Soccer and Peter Martin:

Allan also goes on to talk about working with Roy Hodgson just before he was handed the England job, as well as worshipping the likes of Paul Gascoigne and Juan Román Riquelme.

What do you think of Allan’s comments, and does he still have something to offer Scotland on the international stage?
