Neil Lennon Raves About Mohamed Elyounoussi After Two-Goal Semi-Final Show

Neil Lennon has raved about Mohamed Elyounoussi after his two-goal show in Celtic’s Betfred Cup semi-final win over Hibs.

The Norwegian winger was instrumental as the Hoops won 5-2 to book their place in December’s final.

He scored the opening goal – a nice header after great play from James Forrest to set them up.

Callum McGregor scored shortly after before Hibs pulled one back through Melker Hallberg.

But Elyounoussi scored again just before half-time – and then set up Scott Brown’s second goal late in the game.

It was a brilliant performance from the on-loan Southampton man.

And Lennon spoke post-match about it being his best performance in a Celtic jersey:

Elyounoussi now has seven goals in 10 appearances for Celtic since signing on loan from Southampton.

If he continues to perform like this, you’d have to assume there will be discussions about him joining the club on a permanent basis.

Elyounoussi signed for Southampton in June of 2018, but played just 11 times for them before leaving for Celtic.
