Neil Lennon Reveals Odsonne Edouard Missed Rennes Tie with ‘Niggle’

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has revealed star striker Odsonne Edouard missed Thursday night’s Europa League tie against Rennes due to a ‘niggle’ – but could be fit for Sunday’s trip to Ross County.

The Hoops sealed top-spot in their European group after beating the Ligue 1 side 3-1 at Parkhead, and are guaranteed to be a seeded team in the competition’s last-32 in the New Year.

But they had to do it without Edouard, who has arguably been Celtic’s best player this season, with goal-scorer Lewis Morgan fielded as a make-shift central striker instead of Leigh Griffiths.

It was initially assumed Edouard was missing simply because he was being rested given Lennon’s side had already qualified for the knockout stages, but it turns out the 21-year-old is actually struggling with an injury at the moment:

How important do you think having Edouard available is to Celtic’s chances this season?
