The Colombian striker has established himself as the Gers’ prized asset and one of the best players in Scottish football ever since Gerrard’s arrival in the summer of 2018, and his 22 goals this season have seen various tabloids linking him with a move to clubs such as Aston Villa.
But ahead of tonight’s Europa League showdown with Feyenoord, Gerrard has insisted Morelos is going nowhere when the January transfer window swings open in January.
Earlier this week, outgoing Rangers chairman Dave King said he wouldn’t part with Morelos even for £40 million and now Gerrard has upped the valuation.
When asked about King’s £40 million comment, via the Sun, Gerrard responded: “No. And you can add another £10m on as well.
“Alfredo deserves big praise for his behaviour this season. But we’ve had many a conversation with the whole team about discipline.
“We’ve changed the code of conduct and I’ve sat down and had a man-to-man with Alfredo and he’s listening and learning.
“There’s a realisation he needed to do it for his own career.”
Do you think Rangers would be able to knock back a seriously big bid for Morelos in the coming transfer window?
