The Spurs midfielder has become a key player for the Three Lions under Gareth Southgate recently, and the 23-year-old’s importance to the team was underlined as he was handed the coveted No10 jersey for this evening’s Euro 2020 qualifier away to Kosovo.
England were given something of a scare by Kosovo when they two nations faced each other in Southampton back in September, with Southgate’s men eventually triumphing 5-3 on the night.
But England looked a lot more solid in the opening stages of this match, with Winks delivering a really silky slice of magic to unlock the home defence on 32 minutes:
