We wouldn’t normally cover goals scored against Scotland in games – but we have to make an exception for George Efrem’s stunner for Cyprus this afternoon.
The Cypriot winger may be known to Rangers and Dundee fans following short stints with their club at the beginning of his career.
Efrem was a youngster at Ibrox between 2007 and 2009, but left the club without making an appearance for the first team.
He did get some game time while out on loan with Dundee though, scoring two goals in eight matches for the Dens Park outfit.
Since leaving Scotland, Efrem has played for Omonia and now APOEL in his homeland.
And he now has 43 caps for his country to his name – with his 43rd coming against Scotland today.
Efrem was unlucky to see his shot off the crossbar in the first half fail to be given as a goal despite the ball crossing the line.
But he left no doubt with the goal he did get in the second half, brilliantly volleying into the top corner to level the scoreline:
Pick that out!
