Liam Burt’s hat-trick was the highlight of Celtic reserves’ 6-0 win over Stenhousemuir this week.
The former Rangers attacker is in his first season as a Hoops player after his release from the Ibrox club.
And he looks right at home in Neil Lennon’s reserve team.
Burt was in the midfield for the visit of Stenhousemuir to Lennoxtown earlier in the week and he showed all of his quality with three goals in a dominant victory.
While Leigh Griffiths scoring in the game made headlines, it should be the performance of Burt that interests Hoops fans more:
Could Burt be on Lennon’s radar for a first team promotion at some point this season?
The 20-year-old midfielder actually played three first team games for Rangers during his time there – making his competitive debut back in 2016 as a 17-year-old.
It was a surprising move when Burt signed for Celtic in the summer, but it appears the Scottish champions see something in him that Rangers didn’t before they released him.
