Video: Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo Becomes the Youngest-Ever Player to Score for Italy

Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo carved out a little slice of international history for himself this evening by becoming the youngest-ever player to score in a competitive match for the senior Italy side.

After failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Roberto Mancini’s rejuvenated Azzuri will definitely be at next summer’s European championships, and went into tonight’s final qualifying match against Armenia knowing a more victory would seal the country’s first-ever perfect qualification campaign.

As it turned out, the Italians made pretty light work of their opponents inside the Renzo Barbera Stadium in Palermo by running up an astonishing NINE goals in a 9-1 win.

You could really single-out a few Italy players for their impressive performances but a special mention should go to Zaniolo, who scored twice on the night to write himself into calcio folklore:
