Scott McDonald has scored his first A-League goal for Western United.
The former Motherwell, Celtic, Dundee United and Partick Thistle striker is now back in Australia for his first spell playing in his homeland.
And he’s back amongst the goals, brilliantly turning and finishing to score Western United’s winner against Melbourne Victory.
The game was level at 2-2 when McDonald hit the back of the net – and it turned out to be vital in getting all three points:
At 36, it looks like the hitman still has plenty to give and will be backing himself to score more this season.
This was only his fourth game for Western United since signing and you’d expect him to be even more prolific when up to full match sharpness.
In his time in Scotland, McDonald scored 162 goals – including 64 in 128 games for Celtic as he helped them win the league in 2008 and the League Cup in 2009.
