Frank Lampard has unequivocally ruled out ever managing Tottenham Hotspur.
The Chelsea manager faced the media this afternoon ahead of his side’s English Premier League clash with Manchester City tomorrow night.
The big story of the week is Spurs’ decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino and replace him with Jose Mourinho.
It was a controversial decision to get rid of Pochettino – and arguably an even bigger one to replace him with the former Chelsea manager.
Mourinho spoke years ago about how he wouldn’t manage Spurs out of respect for the Blues fans.
But he’s obviously gone back on that statement and is now firmly in charge at the north London club.
So what about Lampard? Could he ever see himself taking over at Spurs in the future?
Is it different for Lampard compared to Mourinho? The former England international spent 13 years as a player at Stamford Bridge and arguably has a closer relationship with the Chelsea fans.
