Angelo Alessio Issues Exit Statement Wishing Killie Fans Well but Snubs Board and Players

Ex-Kilmarnock manager Angelo Alessio has thanked the club’s supporters in a farewell message today – 24 hours after his surprise sacking.

Intriguingly, the Italian coach never made any mention of the Killie board, or the Ayrshire club’s players on his Instagram page.

Alessio was shown the door following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Ross County, but with Kilmarnock still sitting fifth in the Premiership table, the news came as something of a shock, most of all the the Kilmarnock support.

Well, now Alessio has broken his silence, to a degree, online this afternoon:

Formerly Antonio Conte’s assistant at Inter Milan, Italy and Chelsea, Alessio endured a tricky start as Killie manager, but seemed to have steadied the ship after implementing his own style of play.

In fact, Alessio was the Ladbrokes Premiership manager of the month for October – so does he have every right to be angry at his now former employers and the club’s players?
