Kilmarnock Fans Shocked, Angry and Confused by Angelo Alessio’s Surprise Sacking

Kilmarnock supporters are a mixture of surprised, angry and confused after today’s shock sacking of manager Angelo Alessio.

The appointment of the former Inter Milan, Juventus and Italy assistant manager raised a few eyebrows in the summer, following Steve Clarke’s decision to leave Rugby Park for the Scotland job.

And Alessio has endured a few difficult moments in his early time in Scotland, most notably the humiliating Europa League qualifying exit to Welsh semi-pro side Connah’s Quay Nomads.

But it looked like Alessio had steadied the ship, and was finally implementing his own style of play – until this afternoon’s shock news that he’d no longer be in charge of the Ayrshire club.

Needless to say, the news has generated a pretty strong reaction from Killie supporters:

Do you think Alessio deserved the sack, and is there perhaps more to this than meets the eye?
