Video: Kris Boyd is Taking A Lot of Stick for Saying Scottish Football Has ‘No Great Players’

Kris Boyd has been taking plenty of stick on social media over the last 24 hours after insisting Scottish football doesn’t posses any great players.

The former Rangers and Kilmarnock striker was speaking in his role as a pundit for Sky Sports during yesterday’s coverage of Celtic’s 4-1 win over Ross County at Dingwall.

When the idea of Celtic having several ‘great’ players was put to Boyd, he was having none of it – and seemed to insist the term should be reserved for players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo:

As you can probably imagine, Boyd’s comments haven’t gone down well with plenty of Scottish football fans, many of whom reckon he should be talking up our game, rather than putting it down:

What do you think of Boyd’s comments? Does he have a point, or is he way off the mark with this one?
