Liverpool have named their FIFA Club World Cup squad – showing they clearly prioritise it over the Carabao Cup.
Jurgen Klopp’s men were always going to have a fixture problem when they advanced to the quarter-finals of the English League Cup.
The tie against Aston Villa is slated for December 17th – just a day before they also play their first FIFA Club World Cup game.
They are at that competition in Qatar due to being winners of last season’s Champions League.
But which game would they prioritise given the clash?
When you see the official squad to play at the Club World Cup, it’s clear Klopp is concentrating on that over the domestic trophy:
That’s as strong as Liverpool could possibly get.
So you have to wonder who will line up for the Anfield side when they take on Aston Villa at Villa Park.
As well as their most important first team players being in the squad to head to Qatar, there are a number of their best young stars going too – including Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Rhian Brewster.
