Southampton Fans Have Been Seriously Impressed by Stuart Armstrong of Late

Stuart Armstrong seems to have slowly won over the Southampton supporters, with many praising the Scotland international’s input in recent weeks.

The former Celtic midfielder was instrumental in the Saints’ shock 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day, and he helped his side claim a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace earlier this afternoon.

When Armstrong first arrived in the English Premier League, he initially struggled to hold down a place in the Southampton starting XI, particularly under former manager Mark Hughes, but current boss Ralph Hasenhüttl
appears to appreciate the 27-year-old’s qualities.

Much like he ended up at Celtic, it looks like Armstrong has become a fan favourite amongst the club’s supporters:

With Southampton not entirely clear of relegation danger this season, how important could a player like Stuart Armstrong be towards the club’s survival?

And should the midfielder get more of an opportunity to start for Scotland?
