Video: Celtic’s Frimpong Sent Off as Fraser Forster Saves Alfredo Morelos Penalty

Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster underlined his importance to his side this afternoon by pulling off a brilliant penalty save to deny Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

Rangers thoroughly dominated the opening hour of today’s Betfred Cup Final at Hampden Park, with Morelos spurning several excellent chances, with Ryan Jack also going close to scoring a first-half screamer.

Famously, Morelos is yet to score against Celtic in his time in Glasgow, but he was given a gilt-edged opportunity to do so after being fouled by Jeremie Frimpong – with the Hoops right-back shown a straight red card for his actions.

Morelos looked set to smash his side level – but he wasn’t banking on Forster’s heroics:

What do you think of the stop, and the red card generally?

Given Forster is only on-loan from Southampton, should the Parkhead club break the bank to keep him in the coming summer?
