Video: Celtic’s Jeremie Frimpong Calls Cup Final ‘Hardest Game of His Life’ in Brilliant Interview

Celtic right-back Jeremie Frimpong says the Betfred Cup Final was the ‘hardest game’ of his entire life so far, despite claiming the first winner’s medal of his short career.

The defender has burst onto the Scottish scene in spectacular form ever since moving to Parkhead from Manchester City’s youth academy in September, and the 18-year-old was given the nod by Neil Lennon to start today’s showdown against Rangers.

Frimpong was arguably Celtic’s best outfield player in the first-half but his afternoon soon turned into a nightmare when he gave away a penalty in the 64th minute for hauling down Alfredo Morelos – and was swiftly shown a straight red card by referee Willie Collum.

To Frimpong’s delight, Fraser Forster saved the resultant spot-kick, and Celtic went on to win 1-0, and the youngster struggled to contain his joy when speaking to BT Sport after the final whistle:

It’s impossible not to like this guy, eh?

He might be young, but will today’s experience stand Frimpong in good stead for his career going forward?
