Video: Chelsea Youngster Thierno Ballo Misses Insane Sitter in Build-up to an Utterly Bizarre Goal

Chelsea youngster Thierno Ballo managed to miss one of the most galling sitters we’ve ever seen earlier today, in the build-up to an utterly bizarre goal.

The Premier League giants’ under-19 side were in action in the UEFA Youth League this afternoon at home to Lille, and it wasn’t long before the watching fans were left pretty dumbstruck by the opening goal.

Chelsea striker Ballo, 17, has been earmarked as one of the most exciting young talents at Stamford Bridge ever since moving to the club from German side Viktoria Koln back in 2018, but it’s fair to say he’ll probably be pretty embarrassed tonight.

It looked like Ballo was set to give his team the lead, but he somehow contrived to hit the crossbar just inches from the goal-line – before the ball ricocheted off a helpless defender and apparently beat the goalie:

In the end, Chelsea brought their Youth League campaign to a close with an underwhelming 1-1 draw, but it’s fair to say the fixture will be remembered for Ballo’s crazy miss, rather than anything else.
