Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has revealed he ‘demanded’ a clean-sheet from his defenders against Hearts at Ibrox this afternoon – and his players delivered.

Following Celtic’s 4-1 win over Ross County in this afternoon’s early kick-off, Gerrard and his Gers players went into their 3pm Premiership clash with the Jambos knowing they needed a victory in order to keep pace with their bitter rivals at the top of the table, and it wasn’t long before the goals arrived.

Alfredo Morelos continued his incredible run of form by opening the floodgates after 11 minutes, with Ryan Kent making it 2-0 at half-time.

After the break, substitute Greg Stewart scored twice, along with a Christophe Berra own goal, to give Rangers a commanding win, but Gerrard was keen to praise his defenders given this was their first clean-sheet for three matches:

Gerrard will take his squad to Pittodrie for Wednesday night’s clash with Aberdeen, before a Betfred Cup Final showdown with arch enemies Celtic next Sunday.

How do you think they’ll fare in both matches?
