James Tavernier has responded to Chris Sutton‘s accusation that he’s a ‘serial loser’.
The Rangers captain faced the media this morning ahead of the Betfred Cup Final against Celtic on Sunday.
And while covering a number of different topics going into the game at Hampden Park, the media were quick to ask him about Sutton’s criticism.
The former Celtic striker branded Tavernier a ‘serial loser’, per The Scottish Sun, because he hasn’t won a major trophy in the four years he’s played with the Ibrox club.
But Tavernier doesn’t seem bothered with Sutton’s opinion.
Per Rangers TV, Tavernier said (from 0:56):
Tavernier should be highly motivated to get his hands on the trophy on Sunday as captain.
And while it would be a big achievement for him, it would be even bigger for the club as they’d end Celtic’s domestic dominance over the past three seasons.
