Video: Jordan Jones Provides Clinical Assist as Rangers Reserves Thrash Brentford B

Jordan Jones appears to be closing in on a return to the Rangers first-team after he provided a trademark assist for the club’s development side this afternoon.

Jones has been sidelined with a knee injury ever since his red card tackle on Celtic defender Mauritz Bauer at Ibrox on September 1, and there were initially fears the Northern Ireland winger could be ruled-out for the rest of the campaign.

However, the former Kilmarnock attacker was given the nod to start today’s friendly with English Championship side Brentford’s B-team at Rangers’ Auchenhowie training complex and he reminded Steven Gerrard exactly what he’s capable of:

Jones’s assist was probably the highlight for Gers supporters and, in the end, the home side ran out 4-0 victors, with Greg Stewart and exciting youngster Dapo Mebude both getting on the score-sheet.

How big an impact do you think Jones could make for Rangers in the new year?
