Are Celtic In Talks With Tottenham For Victor Wanyama? Reports Contradict Each Other

Celtic are in talks with Tottenham over the signing of Victor Wanyama, according to Sky Sports.

The broadcaster is reporting that news on their Deadline Day coverage – leading to much excitement among the Hoops support.

But is it true? According to another source, it isn’t.

Per STV’s Ronnie Charters on Twitter, there are no discussions about Wanyama moving north:

That is not the news Celtic supporters will want to hear.

He’s been linked with a return to the Glasgow club for a number of transfer windows now as he continues to struggle for regular game time at Tottenham.

Wanyama has made only one start for Tottenham this term, appearing a further three more times off the bench.

Celtic may feel they need reinforcements in midfield, but they have already signed Ismaila Soro this transfer window and the arrival of Wanyama would more than likely hamper his chances of signing for the club.
